This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and insight-driven revenue accounting within a fast-scaling global finance organization. You will oversee revenue recognition activities while supporting broader operational accounting processes such as cost of sales, accounts receivable, and commissions. The position requires strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in revenue standards, combined with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional finance and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Operating in a dynamic, remote-first environment aligned with US business hours, this role demands both independence and strong coordination skills. You will lead revenue accounting operations while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement across financial reporting processes.
- Lead operational accounting activities with a strong focus on revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of revenue recognition policies aligned with US GAAP (ASC 606) and related guidance.
- Review and assess complex or non-standard customer contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across revenue, cost of sales, AR, and commissions.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and actionable insights for operational and finance teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support reporting accuracy and resolve accounting issues.
- Handle ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from leadership.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise in revenue recognition, combined with analytical strength and experience in fast-paced, global environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- 6+ years of experience in revenue accounting and revenue recognition.
- Strong expertise in ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and US GAAP principles.
- Experience reviewing complex contracts and applying accounting judgment in varied scenarios.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in cross-functional and US-based business environments is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; NetSuite and FloQast experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment with high attention to detail.
