Accountabilities:

In this position, you will independently perform and review complex defined benefit calculations and related transactions while ensuring full compliance with plan rules, legal documentation, and regulatory standards. You will investigate discrepancies, support data integrity, and contribute to continuous improvements in retirement processing workflows.

  • Perform and review complex retirement benefit calculations and transactions with high accuracy and timeliness
  • Interpret plan documents and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant application in calculations
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve calculation and data-related issues
  • Support quality control, documentation, and process standardization efforts
  • Participate in special projects, system testing, and escalated case resolution
  • Serve as a resource to internal partners, providing guidance on calculations and transaction processing
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • May support mentoring, peer training, and informal quality reviews

Requirements:
This role requires strong analytical ability, mathematical proficiency, and experience working with defined benefit pension calculations or similar financial systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a regulated environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar) preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in retirement services, pensions, financial analysis, or related areas
  • Strong understanding of defined benefit plan concepts and calculation methodologies preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to interpret complex plan provisions and apply them correctly in calculations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including collaboration and mentoring ability
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with database or pension administration systems preferred
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads and shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment
