Emergency Admitting Coordinator Position Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the Emergency Registration processes and workflow; acts as Emergency Registrar, Admitting Officer or Bed Control staff as necessary; interacts in a professional and customer-focused manner with patients, families and visitors.

Emergency Admitting Coordinator Position Requirements

Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Advanced courses in computers, office, or public relations preferred.

Experience

  • At least two years as a registrar, collector, or patient account representative or equivalent, plus one to two years' business office experience.
  • Speed and accuracy with calculator required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Requires six months on-the-job training.

Emergency Admitting Coordinator Work Schedule

  • May rotate day, evening, night shift, week and weekend, with overtime as required, to meet staffing needs.
  • Works holidays.
