This is an opportunity for an experienced full-stack engineer to contribute to a complex, long-standing healthcare technology platform used at significant scale.
You will work closely with engineering and product teams to design, build, and ship scalable software solutions with meaningful real-world impact.
The role combines strong backend ownership with full-stack development, with opportunities to leverage AI tools to improve engineering velocity and effectiveness.
You will help evolve architecture, strengthen development practices, and identify improvements that enable systems and teams to scale.
Collaboration, thoughtful technical decision-making, code quality, and continuous feedback are central to the engineering culture.

- Contribute to the full-stack development of a core healthcare technology product, designing and delivering reliable, scalable software solutions.
- Partner closely with product management and engineering colleagues to scope requirements, prioritize work, and deliver solutions aligned with business and customer needs.
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain complex software systems, with a strong emphasis on backend engineering while contributing across the stack.
- Use AI tools and workflows thoughtfully to accelerate development, while maintaining full accountability for the accuracy, quality, security, and integrity of final deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering tools, workflows, architecture, and collaboration practices to increase team effectiveness and system scalability.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design documentation while promoting maintainable code and scalable development practices.
- Identify architectural and technical changes that can help systems support continued growth and advocate for improvements across the engineering organization.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and design teams, actively seeking diverse perspectives and encouraging intentional technical decision-making.
- Connect day-to-day engineering decisions to broader business objectives and customer outcomes.
- Give and receive constructive feedback while contributing to a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional growth.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including at least 3 years within a product-focused organization.
- Demonstrated experience building, shipping, and maintaining production software; SaaS experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong full-stack development capabilities with particular strength in backend engineering and an interest in leveraging AI to improve development workflows.
- Experience working with large, complex software systems; Ruby on Rails experience is highly desirable, or demonstrated willingness and ability to learn it.
- Strong technical proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React; experience with Elm or another typed functional frontend language is a plus.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing cloud-based, scalable architectures, preferably using AWS.
- Practical understanding of Agile development methodologies and the ability to adapt processes to improve team efficiency.
- Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and accelerate delivery.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of technical quality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience partnering effectively across engineering, product, and design teams.
- Ability to work independently while contributing actively to team discussions, technical decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in healthcare technology, billing and payments, fintech, or EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work remotely and overlap with US business hours, approximately 8:00 AM–4:00 PM Pacific Time.
