Role Summary: Calvary Hourly Childcare is a caring and nurturing program dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate experiences that support the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth of each child we serve. Our mission is to lay a strong foundation for early learners in each of these key areas. We are seeking a passionate teacher who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments where flexibility is essential. Each day brings new opportunities, and our educators collaborate closely as a team to meet the evolving needs of the children in our care. Our classrooms are creative, engaging, and play-based—designed to inspire exploration and learning both indoors and outdoors. Teachers in our program use their knowledge of child development and behavior to create meaningful experiences and their strong communication skills to build relationships with children, families, and coworkers.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the classroom using developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior guidance.

• Plan and implement activities based on our curriculum, tailored to support each child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.

• Observe and assess each child's progress using provided assessment tools.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that promotes healthy learning and play.

• Communicate effectively to build trusting relationships with children, families, staff, and team members—including the Hourly team and facilities services.

• Use childcare management tools efficiently for daily operations and documentation.

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, carrying, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.

Personal Responsibilities:

• Exhibit a growth mindset continuously seeking ways to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus which includes evaluating your ministry or support area against department goals and personal performance.

• Live in such a way that your witness, example, service to others, and worship does not become a stumbling block. (I Timothy 3:2 and Acts 15:19).

Qualifications:

• DHS Rule 3 Teacher Qualified

• Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field preferred

• Experience working with children in a licensed center

• Uphold professional characteristics consistent with the requirements of DHS Rule 3, NAEYC accreditation standards, and the expectations of Calvary Church

• Be available 8:00am - 3:30 Tuesday through Friday, September - May
