Occasional local, national, or international travel may be required to support projects and gather production information.

Accountabilities:
  • Coordinate, prepare, execute, and track the cost estimating process from initial requirements through completed estimates and purchase orders.
  • Identify and quantify key cost factors, including production time, materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
  • Attend product meetings and, when required, visit jobsites to gather information that can affect project costs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation to develop accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, industry experts, sales teams, and internal business leaders to develop and validate estimates.
  • Prepare estimates, bids, cost reports, project plans, and other deliverables for clients and business managers.
  • Use estimating and business software to calculate costs, analyze results, and generate reporting.
  • Evaluate product and project cost-effectiveness and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins and efficiency.
  • Recommend practical changes to materials, processes, production approaches, or project plans that can make products more cost effective or profitable.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop accurate client proposals, estimates, and bids.
  • Develop project plans covering the duration of projects and support effective execution from conception through completion.
  • Consult with relevant industry specialists to resolve estimating questions and improve the quality of cost assumptions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and cost information throughout the estimating process.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of previous cost estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, internet applications, and business software.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, budgeting, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and apply mathematical concepts to detailed cost calculations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate projects from conception through completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, reasoning, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and work effectively with peers and senior management.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and attentive to accuracy, deadlines, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative, fast-paced, deadline-oriented team.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally on a local, national, and/or international basis.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Annual salary range of $60,000–$70,000, with actual compensation determined by location, experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options for medical and dependent care expenses or a Health Savings Account (HSA), depending on plan selection.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) savings plan.
  • Opportunities to work across sales, manufacturing, engineering, and client-facing functions.
  • Dynamic environment focused on innovation, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
  • Occasional opportunities to travel locally, nationally, or internationally.
