Desenvolvedor Java Sr.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor Java Sr. based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a senior software engineer to build, evolve, and maintain modern, scalable applications in a cloud-native environment.
You will work extensively with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, and containerized platforms.
The role spans the full development lifecycle, from architecture and coding to automated testing, deployment, and production support.
You will contribute to reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions while helping evolve technical architecture and engineering practices.
Collaboration is central to the position, with close interaction across development, infrastructure, architecture, QA, and product teams.
You will work with DevOps and CI/CD practices and have exposure to major public and private cloud platforms.
This role is well suited to a technically strong professional who values clean code, automation, continuous improvement, and agile delivery.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Design, implement, and maintain microservices-based architectures.
  • Develop, evolve, and integrate REST APIs and backend services.
  • Develop and maintain applications using Node.js when required.
  • Implement event-driven integration and processing solutions using Kafka and Kafka Streams.
  • Work with relational databases, particularly SQL Server.
  • Develop, deploy, and operate applications in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Work across Kubernetes platforms including AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, or equivalent environments.
  • Participate in the implementation and evolution of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support automated deployment and continuous integration processes.
  • Use tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, SonarQube, and Nexus throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute unit tests and apply TDD and BDD practices.
  • Ensure code is secure, readable, testable, maintainable, and aligned with development best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, contributing to application stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of production incidents and problems.
  • Work with public and private cloud environments and contribute to cloud-based solution delivery.
  • Participate in technical decisions and contribute to the evolution of solution architecture.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, architecture, QA, product, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, supporting planning, execution, and delivery tracking.
  • Identify and propose technical and process improvements that increase efficiency, quality, automation, and reliability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong professional experience with Java and/or other JVM-based programming languages.
  • Solid experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and Node.js.
  • Experience developing and operating containerized applications and services using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Kubernetes environments such as AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, or standard Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including Nexus, SonarQube, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub, or StarTeam.
  • Practical experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and automated Continuous Delivery/deployment (CD) processes.
  • Knowledge of unit testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Experience with both private and public cloud environments.
  • Experience with one or more major cloud platforms, including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and code quality principles.
  • Commitment to producing clean, readable, testable, sustainable, and maintainable code.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues and production incidents.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Proactive mindset and interest in continuous technical learning, automation, and process improvement.
