This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Market Data Operations Analyst based in India.
As a Market Data Operations Analyst, you will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of critical market data for SaaS clients.
You will monitor data generation processes, feeds, batch runs, and scheduled snapshots while ensuring operational and SLA requirements are consistently met.
The role combines technical troubleshooting, data analysis, incident management, and client-facing operational support.
You will work closely with clients, developers, professional services teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve complex data issues.
You will also contribute to process optimization and automation, reducing manual effort and strengthening operational efficiency.
The position provides exposure to financial markets, multiple asset classes, cloud technologies, APIs, and data management platforms.
This is a fully remote opportunity for professionals authorized to work in India, with occasional US-shift coverage when required.
- Define, implement, and execute standard operating procedures for market data operations and client support processes.
- Monitor daily market data deliveries, including intraday and end-of-day snapshots, batch processes, scheduled runs, and data feeds across multiple clients.
- Verify successful data generation and delivery while identifying failures and ensuring compliance with operational requirements and SLAs.
- Optimize existing operational processes and automate repetitive or manual data checks to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Respond to market data-related operational requests from clients and internal teams, providing timely investigation and resolution.
- Monitor, triage, investigate, and resolve technical and data quality issues affecting market data feeds.
- Coordinate with developers, vendors, and other stakeholders to escalate and resolve issues that require additional expertise.
- Engage directly with market data vendors regarding data availability, delivery, and quality-related inquiries.
- Coordinate platform releases and production patch deployments with clients.
- Support development teams with parallel-run execution, validation, and production readiness activities.
- Act as Incident Manager for market data incidents, following established incident management procedures.
- Lead post-mortem reviews and root cause analyses, identifying corrective actions and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support financial institution clients with API-related market data questions, issues, and investigations.
- Use data analysis and technical investigation to strengthen the reliability, quality, and operational performance of market data services.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized engineering university or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience using Python for ad-hoc data analysis, investigation, and automation of manual processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and operational investigations.
- Practical knowledge of SQL is beneficial.
- Understanding of financial markets and exchange-traded and OTC derivatives, including forwards, futures, and options.
- Familiarity with multiple asset classes such as interest rates, commodities, credit, equities, and foreign exchange (FX) is highly valued.
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as volatility and beta is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS, with exposure to services such as Step Functions, Lambda, EC2, and DynamoDB considered a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities, with the ability to investigate data discrepancies and technical issues methodically.
- Good English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to incident resolution and operational improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while coordinating with teams and clients across different time zones.
- Willingness to work the US shift when required, approximately 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM MST.
