At Xceleration, we design employee recognition and reward programs that truly connect people to their work. Our RewardStation® platform is used worldwide for everything from peer-to-peer recognition to service milestones, allowing companies to create experiences that reflect their values and reward employees in meaningful ways. We’re proud to work across more than 90 countries, delivering solutions that adapt to different cultures and work environments. Joining Xceleration means working with cutting-edge technology while being part of a team that values input and collaboration. Our environment is designed to help you grow, contribute, and see your efforts directly impact how companies engage and motivate their employees. If you’re looking for a space where your ideas can shape the future of workplace recognition, Xceleration is the place.

Behind every point earned and every reward redeemed is a financial engine that has to run flawlessly, and that's where this role comes in. We are searching for an Accounting Manager to support the Financial Controller with Xceleration’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and ad hoc analysis. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process and will grow into leading key components of it over time. The Accounting Manager will also help develop our Staff Accounting team, with two direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring the general ledger is complete, accurate, and closed on time in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare and review journal entries for technical, judgment-based areas such as accruals, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, software revenue recognition, professional services, and points and level recognition
  • Own and continue to build out the Month-End Close (MEC) package, progressing toward leading the MEC review as the role matures
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Prepare financial reporting and analysis for leadership review, progressing toward managing margin and performance reporting over time
  • Assist the Financial Controller with financial analysis, presentation preparation, and larger ad hoc research projects as they arise
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the annual review
  • Assist with annual 1099 filings
  • Take the lead in preparing quarterly UK VAT returns, working directly with our VAT consultants
  • Assist with budget versus actual variance analysis
  • Help develop and support our accounting team through training and review of weekly and monthly work
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
  • Take on additional projects and analysis in support of company growth, as needed
  • Process invoicing for our largest, most complex client on the 1st and 16th of the month

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of technical accounting areas such as accruals, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and account reconciliations is a must
  • Experience managing and/or contributing to the month-end close process
  • Working knowledge of US tax regulations is an added bonus
  • Working knowledge of UK and EU VAT regulations is an added bonus
  • Comfortable training and reviewing the work of other accounting staff
  • Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and IF statements
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Clear, conscientious communicator who works well across departments
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, respect, and sound judgment
  • Motivated to take on increasing responsibility over time
