About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers our organization's applications and services.
You will work at the cutting edge of cloud and container orchestration, leveraging Kubernetes, Helm, and robust container management practices. Operating within a DevSecOps framework, you will utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet) to ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency of our RedHat Linux and AWS cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud and on-premise infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and services.
Container Orchestration & Management: Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Helm across RedHat Linux environments to ensure high availability.
Automation & Configuration Management: Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform alongside configuration management via Ansible and Puppet to streamline provisioning.
DevSecOps & CI/CD: Integrate security deeply into the development lifecycle through robust DevSecOps practices and the management of automated CI/CD pipelines.
Access Control & Security: Administer and optimize AWS IAM policies and security baselines to safeguard platform resources and data.
Collaboration & Optimization: Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container management.
Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform.
Configuration Management: Experience with Ansible and Puppet.
Operating Systems: Strong administration skills in RedHat Linux.
Practices & Tools: Practical implementation of DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS IAM.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Relevant industry certifications in Kubernetes, DevSecOps, or AWS.
Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining large-scale cloud environments.
