Tax & Assurance Intern [Summer] in Redding, California at Platform Accounting Group

We are seeking a Tax & Assurance Intern to join our Redding, CA office, DHS Advisors. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong interest in the accounting industry. As a Tax & Assurance Intern, you will assist with researching and resolving technical tax issues, supporting a variety of tax projects, and contributing to other assignments as needed. Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, openness to feedback, and the ability to both give and receive coaching in a team-oriented environment.

What you will do:

• Gain exposure to complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including C-corporations, S-Corporations, partnerships, individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns
• Understand the tax return process with a high degree of accuracy
• Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax-related software to research tax matters
• Provide or assist with accounting services including bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, etc.
• Support the office in maintaining and enhancing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of each client's business and finances
• Collaborate with the broader team of interns across Platform, gaining insight on best practices and procedures

The expected salary range for this role is $25 per hour, which represents a good faith and reasonable estimate. Compensation decisions depend on numerous factors including bona fide qualifications and the facts and circumstances of each case at the time of hiring. Relevant qualifications include, but are not limited to employee education, training, skillset, credentials/certifications, relevant work experience, geographic work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), the scope and responsibilities of the role, internal level and peer equity, and market considerations.
