This is a senior thought-leadership role focused on helping Chief Audit Executives and internal audit leaders address complex strategic and operational challenges.
You will shape actionable research, insights, and best practices across audit function strategy and management.
The role combines deep subject-matter expertise with client advisory, research, writing, and executive-level engagement.
You will analyze emerging trends, identify root causes, and translate complex challenges into practical recommendations.
You will also contribute to presentations, conferences, client briefings, and collaborative research initiatives.
Working within a global, multicultural environment, you will influence research agendas while mentoring other analysts and strengthening client impact.

- Develop innovative, practical, and high-impact insights on internal audit leadership, function strategy, and audit management.
- Research, analyze, and anticipate trends, challenges, and shifts affecting internal audit and adjacent functions such as Compliance, Legal, and Risk.
- Provide actionable advice to clients and prospects through virtual and in-person engagements, helping them address critical business priorities.
- Analyze complex client challenges, identify root causes and barriers, and reframe issues to support stronger strategic decision-making.
- Establish thought leadership and differentiated perspectives across a team of analysts and contribute independent insights that can shape future research priorities.
- Create high-quality research, presentations, briefing materials, and other content for client engagements, conferences, professional associations, and industry events.
- Serve as a trusted subject-matter expert, building credibility with Chief Audit Executives, senior leaders, and other executive stakeholders.
- Support sales and client engagement initiatives by providing market expertise and helping teams demonstrate the practical value of research and advisory insights.
- Participate in peer reviews, research discussions, innovation initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration across the broader insights community.
- Identify opportunities to improve research processes and develop approaches that enhance service delivery and client value.
- Mentor and coach more junior team members while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing professional environment.
- Maintain a strong client-centric mindset and proactively encourage meaningful engagement with research, insights, and advisory resources.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; a graduate degree is preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant industry or professional experience, with substantial expertise in internal audit or the Chief Audit Executive role.
- Deep understanding of internal audit functions and related areas including Compliance, Legal, Risk, and other assurance disciplines.
- Strong experience with audit professional practices, including quality assurance, process improvement, audit staff training, and interaction with external auditors, regulators, or other assurance providers.
- Demonstrated experience leading audit strategy across one or more internal audit functions is preferred.
- Experience designing or updating audit methodologies, policies, and procedures and/or integrating emerging technologies into audit processes is advantageous.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to establish credibility quickly with senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional research, writing, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling conclusions.
- Strong business and financial acumen, combined with an understanding of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area.
- Ability to communicate sophisticated concepts clearly and concisely to both expert and non-expert audiences.
- Confidence presenting to audiences ranging from small executive groups to large conferences and professional events.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a highly matrixed, multicultural global organization.
- Learning agility, adaptability, intellectual curiosity, and comfort navigating changing priorities and complex environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 25% when required.
- Estimated base salary range of $172,000–$202,500, with actual compensation based on factors such as experience, location, qualifications, professional achievement, and business needs.
