Exus is seeking a Network Connectivity Specialist that will support the information technology (IT) infrastructure of the Company’s renewable energy assets. This position ensures high data availability, secure and reliable systems, and enhance operational capabilities by focusing on cybersecurity, substation network management, and system integrity.
Please note: this is a fully onsite role with 4 days in office, 1 day remote, with reasonable flexibility in our Pittsburgh office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support site networking components, including but not limited to VPN connections, Internet Service Provider (ISPs), network routes, and VLANs to ensure uninterrupted and reliable dataflows.
- Learn how to securely back up substation IT and network configurations to support disaster recovery and incident response readiness.
- Observe and learn how to monitor IT and network assets for vulnerabilities and execute necessary updates or patches in partnership with our MSP.
- Support the onboarding and integration of new renewable energy assets into existing infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Development and Construction teams on network infrastructure and internet service provisioning for new sites.
- Oversee cybersecurity for site networks, including configuration management, and firmware updates.
- Support with cybersecurity framework across all site networking, IT at renewable energy sites.
- Coordinate and co-lead tickets and projects with external contractors for IT system implementations and maintenance as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT system support, preferably in the energy or utilities sector required.
- Experience with industrial networking (e.g., VLANs, routing, VPNs) required.
- Knowledge in cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection, vulnerability assessment, and patch management.
