- Develop repeatable processes, templates, and documentation to improve the efficiency of compliance operations.
- Support corporate compliance initiatives, regulatory monitoring, and implementation of internal policies.
- Review contractual insurance requirements and coordinate with brokers to obtain certificates of insurance and policy documentation.
- Identify potential coverage gaps, unusual contractual obligations, and compliance risks for review.
- Draft, update, and maintain internal policies related to data privacy, information security, acceptable use, and workplace practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure policies are practical, aligned with business needs, and effectively implemented.
- Provide legal operations support for special projects, including litigation support activities such as document collection and coordination with external counsel when required.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in contracts, compliance, legal operations, or a related paralegal function, with strong analytical abilities and the confidence to manage responsibilities independently.
- Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certification, legal studies, J.D., or equivalent legal education is strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in legal operations, contract management, compliance, commercial agreements, or a comparable paralegal role.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including NDAs and vendor agreements.
- Knowledge of compliance processes, procurement requirements, vendor management programs, and operational risk management.
- Experience drafting, maintaining, and implementing internal policies and procedures.
- Proficiency with contract lifecycle management tools, document management systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and thorough legal documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and determine when escalation is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with legal teams, clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Adaptability and willingness to take ownership of new processes, challenges, and operational improvements.
Preferred qualifications:
- Paralegal certification such as CP, ACP, RP, or equivalent credential.

- Familiarity with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
- Experience improving legal workflows, operational processes, or contract management systems.

- Knowledge of insurance documentation workflows and common coverage types, including general liability, errors and omissions, and cyber insurance.
- Competitive annual compensation ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 CAD.
- Full-time employment opportunity within a collaborative legal and business environment.
- Opportunity to work closely with senior legal leadership and contribute to meaningful operational improvements.
- Flexible work arrangement with preference for working from the office in Downtown Toronto, while remote options may be considered.
- Exposure to diverse legal, compliance, and business operations initiatives.
- Opportunity to build expertise across contracts, compliance frameworks, and legal technology tools.
- Supportive environment focused on professional growth, ownership, and continuous improvement.
