Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Scientist in Canada.
This role is centered on turning complex customer and product data into clear, actionable insights that shape product direction, marketing strategy, and customer experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze behavioral patterns, design and evaluate experiments, and uncover opportunities to improve engagement, retention, and growth. Operating in a fast-paced, product-led environment, you will help define what “good” looks like from a measurement and analytics perspective. The role combines hands-on data science work with strategic influence, requiring both technical depth and strong business acumen. You will build models, shape experimentation frameworks, and translate findings into decisions that directly impact roadmap and business priorities. This is an ideal position for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to drive measurable impact through data.
You will be responsible for transforming raw behavioral and product data into insights, models, and experiments that guide strategic decisions across product, marketing, and customer experience teams.
- Analyze customer lifecycle and behavioral data to identify trends, usage patterns, and opportunities to improve acquisition, engagement, retention, and product adoption.
- Design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests and experimentation frameworks to measure the impact of product and marketing initiatives.
- Build statistical models, datasets, and segmentation frameworks to support forecasting, customer understanding, and decision-making.
- Apply machine learning and data science techniques to solve practical business problems and improve internal and customer-facing outcomes.
- Partner with data engineering teams to improve data quality, reliability, and accessibility across core metrics and analytics systems.
- Communicate insights clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling confident, data-driven decisions.
This role requires a strong foundation in data science, experimentation, and behavioral analytics, along with the ability to translate complex analysis into business impact.
- 5+ years of experience in a data science role within B2B SaaS or product/growth-focused environments.
- Strong expertise in statistics, experimentation design, and behavioral analytics applied to real-world business problems.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for large-scale data analysis, modeling, and exploration.
- Experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar tools; dbt experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to independently define problems, structure analysis, and drive work from idea to execution.
- Experience applying machine learning techniques pragmatically to improve business or product outcomes.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience (approximately 140,000–150,000 USD equivalent, depending on market and qualifications).
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, and mental health support for employees and their families.
- Unlimited paid time off with a strong focus on flexibility and work-life balance.
- Fully remote work environment with flexibility across the Americas.
- Paid parental leave (up to 16 weeks) and family support benefits.
- Home office, wellness, and professional development stipends.
- Opportunity to influence product strategy and build a strong data-driven culture in a high-impact environment.
