The Kitchen Manager serves as a Customer Service Ambassador by insuring that the food we serve meets or exceeds our standards of excellence at all times.  This position is responsible for setting the expectations for the kitchen team members, ensuring maximum productivity, quality, and team work.  The Kitchen Manager is the example of our standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, or food quality. The Kitchen Manager ensures that kitchen team members are adhering to all company and local county standards related to the proper cleaning and sanitizing of tools, utensils, and stations, along with recipe execution, and ordering, receiving, and storing practices.  This position is responsible for the speed and accuracy of the team and must be able to work effectively with limited supervision, demonstrating leadership in order to motivate others.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to all guests.
  • Complete, hands-on training and knowledge of each position within the kitchen.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the kitchen, as well as all aspects associated with food production and menu execution.
  • Ensures the BOH is set up accurately for every shift and broken down accurately after every shift.
  • Thorough knowledge of our recipes and food preparation procedures in order to effectively manage the standards of our kitchen.
  • Monitor wait times in the serving line.
  • Train and cross-train employees in food preparation procedures and company standards, while monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, and presentation to ensure food is prepared and served in an acceptable manner.
  • Schedule, receive, and verify food and beverage deliveries for proper quality and quantity.
  • Ensure product safety by training all employees on food preparation, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, work areas and property to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
  • Understand, monitor, and manage safety and security practices to ensure safety to employee and patrons.
  • Responsible for working with other managers to meet the financial and operational targets while maintaining high operating standards.
  • Responsible for personnel actions such as hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating as necessary in accordance with Goode Company policies and applicable laws.
  • Teach and train staff about the core values and culture of Goode Company.
  • Effectively manage schedules to ensure the restaurant is staffed accordingly and per company policy.
  • Monitor employee appearance and uniform throughout shift.
  • Communicate effectively with other managers and staff members.
  • Build employee morale and rapport by leading by example, teamwork, and hands-on management approach (training, coaching, motivating, and follow-up.)
  • Conduct shift meetings as necessary.
  • Display a sense of ownership. Make decisions as if the restaurant were your own.
  • Be resourceful in handling assignments and solving problems.
  • Manage our food quality standards by consistently monitoring the temperate of foods, food preparation, and plating.
  • Responsible for food safety and allergy awareness.
  • Ensure cleanliness and provide oversight to the cleaning program.
  • Accountable for conducting the weekly inventory, and meeting set food cost goals.
  • Oversee the ordering of kitchen production items.
  • Organizes, directs, validates and follows up on all training programs involving BOH Team Members.
  • Conducts thorough and accurate line checks, correcting issues as they arise.
  • Timely and efficiently handle complaints of harassment/sexual harassment
  • Participates in the training and implementation of new initiatives and menu roll-outs.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of previous Kitchen Management Experience a must
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L accountability experience, required
  • Spanish speaking a plus, not required
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office experience
  • Food Manager, TABC and Allergen Certification
