Job Description
For more than 100 years, Lone Mountain Ranch has welcomed guests to beautiful Big Sky, Montana. Set on 148 acres just minutes from Yellowstone National Park, the Ranch is known for authentic Western hospitality, exceptional dining, outdoor adventures, and unforgettable guest experiences.
The beauty of the Ranch may be what guests remember first, but it's the people who create the experiences they remember most. Together, we take pride in caring for this special place—preserving its history, stewarding its natural surroundings, and creating meaningful experiences for every guest who visits.
Whether you're welcoming guests, preparing memorable meals, caring for our historic property, or supporting operations behind the scenes, every role contributes to creating unforgettable experiences while helping shape the next chapter of Lone Mountain Ranch's legacy.
Create a Guest Experience That Feels Effortless
The Bison Lodge Host & Ranch Ambassador is a unique hospitality role for someone who notices the details, anticipates what guests need, and genuinely enjoys creating personalized experiences.
When Bison Lodge is occupied, you'll serve as the dedicated host for guests staying in our premier accommodation, coordinating everything from transportation and provisioning to dining, activities, beverages, and special requests. You'll work closely with teams across the Ranch to bring thoughtfully planned stays to life while providing warm, attentive service that never feels intrusive.
When Bison Lodge is unoccupied, you'll bring that same level of hospitality throughout the Ranch as a Ranch Ambassador—connecting with guests, offering recommendations, solving problems, and finding thoughtful ways to make their experience even better.
What You'll Do- Serve as the dedicated point of contact for Bison Lodge guests throughout their stay.
- Anticipate guest needs and coordinate personalized requests, itineraries, activities, dining, and special experiences.
- Partner closely with Concierge, Front Desk, Transportation, Housekeeping, Culinary, Activities, Maintenance, and other Ranch teams.
- Provide professional guest transportation throughout the Ranch and to approved off-property destinations.
- Prepare and maintain Bison Lodge for guest stays, including provisioning, organization, light tidying, and attention to guest amenities.
- Provide basic wine, cocktail, beverage, and in-lodge dining service as needed.
- Maintain discretion and respect for guest privacy at all times.
- When Bison Lodge is unoccupied, engage with guests throughout the Ranch, provide recommendations and assistance, resolve concerns, and support the overall guest experience.
- Follow through on the details, adapting quickly when guest plans or operational needs change.
You'll thrive in this role if you are naturally attentive and genuinely enjoy taking care of people. You notice what others may miss, remember the small details, and understand how thoughtful service can transform a good stay into an exceptional one.
You're comfortable working independently but know that great hospitality depends on strong communication and collaboration. You remain composed when plans change, solve problems without creating unnecessary friction for the guest, and understand when to be present and when to give guests space.
Most importantly, you bring warmth, professionalism, good judgment, and a willingness to help wherever needed.
What You'll Bring- Experience in hospitality, guest services, private service, or another highly service-oriented environment.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate guest needs.
- Professionalism, discretion, and respect for guest privacy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Comfortable driving Ranch vehicles and providing guest transportation.
- Basic knowledge of wine, cocktails, and beverage service, or the ability to learn.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on guest and operational needs.
- Luxury hospitality, concierge, VIP guest service, or similar high-touch service experience is preferred.
At Lone Mountain Ranch, exceptional guest experiences begin with exceptional people. Every role contributes to something larger—from preserving the character of this historic Ranch to creating meaningful experiences guests carry with them long after they leave.
You'll work alongside people who care deeply about their craft, their teammates, and the experience we create together. We value initiative, collaboration, thoughtful leadership, and people who take pride in doing things well.
If you're looking for meaningful work in a place where your contribution matters and where hospitality is about genuine connection, Lone Mountain Ranch offers the opportunity to be part of something truly special.
