This is a hands-on research and strategy role supporting marketing engagements for higher education institutions.
You will own the research, audits, data analysis, and first drafts that form the foundation of strategic recommendations.
The role combines market intelligence, competitive analysis, audience research, and clear business communication.
You will work across multiple client engagements, balancing structured processes with situations that require independent judgment.
Your findings will help consultants move quickly from research to actionable recommendations and measurable marketing strategies.

- Conduct market, industry, and competitive research across multiple client engagements, identifying relevant trends, opportunities, and insights.
- Audit client and competitor marketing experiences, including websites, email communications, inquiry journeys, and other digital touchpoints.
- Collect, organize, and analyze information from third-party research platforms and databases to support audience segmentation and market sizing.
- Synthesize findings from multiple sources into structured, concise, and actionable insights.
- Build first-draft reports, presentations, audits, and strategic documents using established research briefs, frameworks, and templates.
- Manage research timelines and coordinate required inputs across multiple concurrent engagements and internal teams.
- Take ownership of research processes on defined and repeatable engagements, managing the workflow from research through initial deliverables.
- Support more complex strategic projects by owning the research and synthesis layer and preparing well-organized findings for consultants and leadership.
- Review and quality-assure all deliverables for accuracy, formatting, completeness, consistency, and clarity before submission.
- Apply sound judgment when working with ambiguous research questions, identifying the most relevant information and translating it into practical conclusions.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in marketing, market research, or an agency/client-services environment.
- Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to produce polished, structured reports and professional presentations.
- Proven experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, audience segmentation, and related strategic research.
- Experience collecting and working with data from third-party research platforms, databases, or market intelligence tools.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to transform information from multiple sources into clear and actionable summaries.
- Experience preparing reports, presentations, audits, or other structured client-facing deliverables.
- Proficiency with Google Slides, PowerPoint, or comparable presentation and documentation tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines independently.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality assurance.
- Ability to work within established frameworks while applying independent judgment to ambiguous or unfamiliar situations.
- Self-directed and comfortable taking ownership of research projects without close supervision.
- Experience working in a marketing agency or managing multiple client accounts is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with higher education marketing is desirable.
- Previous experience with higher education or nonprofit marketing campaigns is a plus.
- Fully remote, full-time position.
- 40-hour workweek with flexibility within U.S. time zones.
