Material Handler in Houston, Texas at Apex GeoTech Solutions

POSITION SUMMARY

Operates indoor forklifts and material handling equipment to move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods within the manufacturing facility safely and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate sit-down counterbalanced forklifts inside the manufacturing facility
• Transport raw materials from receiving to production areas
• Move work-in-process between production departments per router instructions
• Place and retrieve materials from rack storage using forklift
• Inspect forklift before each shift and report maintenance needs
• Maintain organized material flow and staging areas
• Follow all pedestrian safety and aisle clearance rules

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid forklift operator certification
• 1+ years indoor forklift operation experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Sit-down and reach truck experience
• Inventory system/ERP experience for material transactions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Forklift operation in industrial setting, lifting up to 50 lbs, exposure to manufacturing environment. PPE required.
