The role combines detailed control and protection hardware engineering with hands-on pre-commissioning and site support.
You will develop critical engineering documentation, interfaces, schematics, panel designs, and protection systems for complex grid infrastructure.

Based in Noida with hybrid working flexibility, you will play an important role in delivering reliable and high-quality solutions for modern power networks.
- Control and Protection Hardware Engineering: Develop detailed hardware specifications and bills of materials for substation and STATCOM projects, including control and protection panels, automation panels, relay lists, bay control units, marshalling kiosks, and associated engineering documentation.
- Engineering Drawings and Documentation: Prepare and review protection single-line diagrams, control schematics, interconnection diagrams, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules, terminal plans, panel layouts, rack layouts, and other project documentation using tools such as EPLAN, E3, or EBASE.
- Auxiliary and Interface Engineering: Design AC/DC auxiliary supply distribution schemes and develop I/O allocation and interface engineering for protection relays, RTUs, BCUs, SCADA systems, STATCOM controllers, Ethernet switches, and other control equipment.
- STATCOM Engineering: Develop hardware engineering for STATCOM control and protection systems, valve cooling interfaces, transformer protection, line-bay protection, MSC/MSR bay protection, and harmonic filter protection systems.
- Control and Communication Systems: Coordinate interfaces between unit and station controllers, PPC, HMI, and grid automation systems, while preparing communication architecture drawings and interface documentation.
- Protection Systems: Apply knowledge of protection schemes for transmission lines, power transformers, busbars, reactors, capacitor banks, harmonic filters, and STATCOM branches.
- Commissioning Support: Support pre-commissioning activities for control and protection systems at site, review and apply design-stage documents and settings, assess site modifications, perform engineering updates, and conduct primary and secondary injection testing of protection relays.
- Testing and Energization: Participate in FAT and SAT activities when required and provide technical support during energization and performance testing to help ensure safe, reliable, and successful project delivery.
- Standards and Quality: Apply relevant standards and requirements, including IEC 61850, IEC 60255, IEC 62271, IEC 61000, utility technical specifications, and grid-code requirements, while maintaining documentation in accordance with project quality plans.
- Project Collaboration: Work effectively with global teams, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve technical challenges, manage priorities, and deliver engineering activities on schedule.
- Education and Experience: Hold a BTech or MTech degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Systems, and bring 6–8 years of relevant experience in Substation, FACTS, or HVDC projects.
- STATCOM/FACTS/HVDC Expertise: Have at least 2 years of specific experience working on STATCOM, FACTS, or HVDC projects, with utility-scale grid integration and EHV substation experience considered an advantage.
- Engineering Design: Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in single-line diagrams, protection and metering SLDs, control and protection panel design, automation panels, BOM preparation, interconnection diagrams, cable schedules, terminal plans, GA drawings, hardware lists, and related engineering deliverables.
- Commissioning Knowledge: Experience with plant commissioning, pre-commissioning, protection testing, site modifications, energization, or performance testing is highly relevant, while experience commissioning 1–2 STATCOM/HVDC projects is preferred.
- Protection and Power Systems: Possess a solid understanding of electrical protection schemes and relevant IEC standards, utility specifications, and grid-code requirements for complex power transmission and grid-integration environments.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Demonstrate excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to investigate complex engineering issues and develop practical solutions.
- Communication: Have fluent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate technical information effectively with global teams, customers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Project Management Skills: Be highly organized, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple project activities simultaneously, and comfortable working in a fast-paced international engineering environment.
- Ownership and Collaboration: Bring a team-oriented mindset, strong ownership and accountability, proactive working habits, and a willingness to identify and implement improvements.
- International Exposure: Experience handling global utility or customer requirements and a genuine interest in working across international projects and multicultural engineering teams are highly valued.
