Summary:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the execution of identified recruiting plans for full life-cycle recruiting: sourcing, screening, onboarding, and recommending placement of staff by using traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting methods. This role is responsible to source for internal and external positions for the Agency and affiliates, as well as work with outside contractors for placement needs as required.
Essential Job Duties:
- Partner with hiring manager to determine staffing needs.
- Screen resumes, interview candidates (by phone or in person), administer appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, make recommendations for hire (or not hire) and deliver employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt position openings within assigned affiliates.
- Serve as an expert for recruiting candidates within assigned affiliates.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local colleges and organizations to build a network of current and future recruitment resources.
- Engage with professional networks to create recruitment channels.
- Use traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
- Keep up to date with trends in recruitment and work to develop new recruitment resources.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop advertising (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates
- Manage internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
- Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
- Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals
- Communicate employment information during delivery of employment offers (benefits, compensation, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
- Manage current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and manage application/resume file and retention according to company policy
- Prepare and deliver reports on hiring metrics as requested
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient in time-management skills
- Must be proficient in use of Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field or equivalent level of experience, training and education
- 1 – 3 years of relevant work experience, health care recruitment experience preferred
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP credentials preferred
- Reliable transportation
All experience and education requirements, except when required by federal, state, or local laws or requirements, may be waived at the discretion of management with the approval of the Executive Vice President, in collaboration with Human Resources.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit continuously
- Ability to reach above shoulder level
- Ability to turn/twist upper body
- Ability to use hand for repetitive action and fine manipulating for the purpose of keyboarding
