BARTENDER- RNR Restaurant at Rod 'N' Reel, Inc. – Chesapeake Beach, Maryland

Position Summary:

At the Rod ‘N Reel Resort, our Bartenders play an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guest. Our Bartenders are responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, engaging guests with friendly and professional service, and maintaining an inviting and energetic atmosphere that reflects the resort’s coastal charm. This role requires a balance of mixology skill, speed, and genuine guest connection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests promptly and create a welcoming, enjoyable bar experience.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to resort recipes and standards.
• Engage with guests to make recommendations and upsell premium spirits, wine, and signature cocktails.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all drink and food menus, daily specials, and resort offerings to make accurate recommendations and pairings.
• Ensure consistent and accurate cash handling and POS transactions.
• Check identification to verify legal drinking age and promote responsible alcohol service.
• Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked before, during, and after shifts.
• Monitor guest behavior and report any intoxication or safety concerns to management.
• Support servers and other team members with drink orders and guest requests.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and resort policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant, bar, or resort environment preferred.
• Strong mixology and beverage knowledge, with a passion for hospitality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess strong cash handling skills/experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a POS system.
• Familiarity with restaurant menus and ability to recommend food and drink pairings.
• Must be 21 years or older and hold a valid alcohol service certification (TIPS or equivalent).
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
• Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction.
