About This Position

Position: Tow Driver

Facility: Wrench N Go Des Moines

Reports to: Facility Manager

Summary

Under supervision, operates tow truck picking vehicles for facility.

  • General understanding of vehicle mechanics, transmission types, front and rear wheel drive vehicles
  • Responsible for the pick-up of vehicles from various auction sites and customers in the local region and delivering back to yard in a safe and timely manner
  • Ability to operate a tow truck (experience preferred, but willing to train)
  • Excellent driving skills and valid driver’s license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Responsible for collecting all paperwork and complying with all federal and state regulations
  • General sense of direction and general understanding of maps
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Committed to Safety
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Safety:

Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards may result in loss of position.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must have Class D CDL and minimum 1-3 years verifiable experience. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.
