Annual Compensation: Starting at $52,000
Position Summary: Responsible for the effective management, security, and optimization of the organization’s databases and information technology infrastructure. This role ensures data integrity, supports user access and reporting, and maintains systems that keep operations running efficiently. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills and a customer service mindset.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information services, project management or related field of study.
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience, managing databases and IT infrastructure, preferably within association management, non-profit management or membership-based organization
- Proficiency with data platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SQL) and reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, security best practices and cloud-based platforms.
- Excellent project management and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to support technical and non-technical users.
- Experience in a nonprofit or membership-based organization is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and adoption of a new database system, including data migration, user training, and change management.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, security, and compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
- Manage database maintenance, backups, and upgrades.
- Manage day-to-day IT operations including network systems, servers, user devices, software and could-based tools.
- Maintain and support office technology (hardware, software, email, VPN, etc.).
- Serve as the point of contact for IT support needs and troubleshooting.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Monitor cybersecurity threats and ensure systems are secure and patched regularly.
- Oversee technology onboarding/offboarding process for staff.
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, policies, procedures and protocols.
- Assist in budgeting for IT and database-related needs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the senior director of operational strategy and/or chief executive officer.
Technology Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience overseeing database implantation and data migration projects.
- Proficiency in managing structured databases such as Microsoft SQL.
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, iMIS)
- Strong understanding of database management and the ability to troubleshoot and assist with complex IT hardware issues.
- Ability to write and optimize SQL queries and generate reports
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft365 programs as necessary.
- Ability and willingness to effectively use other job-related technology tools.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office 365 software programs and display the technical aptitude/willingness to learn internal systems.
- Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
- Ability to project manage a variety of IT requests.
Expectations:
- Effectively manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations for IT and database projects.
- Provides technical support and guidance to staff and national volunteers.
- Collaborates across teams and entities within the organization.
- Be proficient in cybersecurity principles, risk prevention and compliance standards.
- Consistently demonstrate through words, actions and interactions in alignment with the Sorority’s values, strategic direction and commitment to diversity, equity access and inclusion, focusing on the success of the organization.
- Promote the ongoing development of a service rapport with Sigma Kappa Sorority, Foundation and National Housing Corporation staff, chapters, volunteers and members.
- Represent Sigma Kappa within related professional organizations as approved by the senior director of operational strategy and/or chief executive officer.
- Demonstrate a positive, problem-solving mindset and a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
- Demonstrated project management experience in a professional environment.
- Maintain positive public relations within the Sorority, among all Sorority entities, in contacts with other membership groups, university officials, vendors, and others.
- Maintain and develop materials and procedure notebooks as appropriate to the position.
- Stay apprised of technology industry trends and recommend modifications to systems as appropriate.
- Support the organization’s efforts to prepare and execute national events such as bi-annual national convention and annual Summit for Collegiate Leadership, including traveling to events to provide on-site staff support.

Working Conditions:
- 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET (some flexibility available).
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Less than 10% of travel expected, including travel to national events.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with regular face-to-face or virtual communication.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand under 1/3 of the time.

- Ability to sit over 2/3 of the time.
