Position: Oil & Gas Regulatory Analyst

Location: On site at Urban Oil and Gas in Plano, TX

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education

Term: Full Time

Experience: 5-10 years

Job Description

Urban is looking for a highly capable, detailed-oriented, self-motivated candidate to join the team. As a regulatory analyst, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Urban’s activities are conducted ethically and in compliance with relevant regulations, laws and standards. Prepares and submits regulatory applications such as permits, licenses, certificates and authorization required by governmental agencies. The regulatory analyst will be able to directly contribute to the success of Urban.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Interact with agencies in a professional and influential manner, responding to their requests

· Manage all regulatory and permitting activities associated with operations of wells

· File reports and submits payments to federal and state agencies to ensure we are complying

· Work independently and in groups with guidance in complex situations

· Knowledge to prepare and submit permits for injection, saltwater disposal, co-mingling, applications for multiple states

· Read and understand plats and drilling report to submit paperwork

· Prepare ½ mile and ¼ mile plats for injection and SWD applications

· All annual reporting for TX, OK, AR, KS, LA, WY, UT, NE, AL (a plus)

· Drilling tech experience, (a plus)

· Knowledge to read and understand well bore schematic, (a plus)

· Able to multitask between various states

· Work closely & build rapport with engineers, field, geologist, land man & accounting personnel

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

  • 5-10 years of agency interaction experience with filing reports with federal and state keeping within regulatory and compliance
  • Utilize active listening and influencing skills along with deductive reasoning to understand and resolve issues preferably in Oil and Gas
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, taking initiative to accomplish goals in most efficient way possible while meeting strict deadlines
  • Close attention to detail with basic technical knowledge of all aspects of oil and gas operations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Communicates with clarity and integrity and understands the need for constant and consistent dialog
  • Strong team-working skills and ability to take on increasing responsibilities in a fast paced, growth-oriented company
