Substitute in Jacksonville, Florida at UNIVERSITY BAPTIST CHURCH OF JACKSONVILLE

University Christian School is seeking dedicated and flexible Substitute Teachers to provide instruction and classroom management in the absence of regular teaching staff. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a Christ-centered, safe, and engaging learning environment where students can continue to grow academically and spiritually.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
• Maintain classroom order and a positive learning atmosphere aligned with UCS values and behavioral expectations.
• Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, and other assigned areas.
• Adapt to various grade levels and subjects as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
• Uphold the mission of University Christian School to provide a Christ-centered education that equips students spiritually, academically, and socially.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive, respectful environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the values and mission of University Christian School.
• Must pass a Level 2 background check and any additional screenings required by UCS.

Work Schedule

• On-call, as needed basis during the school year.
• Assignments may range from partial-day coverage to multi-day assignments.
