ABOUT PALIHOTEL WESTWOOD VILLAGE:

A 55-room boutique hotel, nestled in Westwood Village, one of the most recognized university towns in the country. The hotel embodies a mix of mid-century modern with Parisian eclecticism, all set in a delightful historic building that was once home to Westwood Village's first-ever hotel, dating back to 1939.

POSITION PROFILE:

The Engineering Supervisor keeps Palihotel Westwood Village running safely and beautifully, leading the team that stands behind every comfortable room and seamless stay. You'll guide daily maintenance work, solve problems before guests notice them, and be the steady hand our team and colleagues rely on.

THE TASK AT HAND:

• Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests, resolving issues with a warm and service-minded approach.

• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems throughout the property.

• Inspect guest rooms, common areas, and building exteriors regularly to spot and address concerns early.

• Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment, inventory, and vendor service in the hotel's maintenance systems.

• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors, and make sure their work meets our standards and safety requirements.

• Partner with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Food & Beverage teams to prioritize repairs and minimize disruption to guests.

• Follow all safety, security, and emergency protocols, and lend a hand to other departments as needed to keep operations smooth.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Required

• 3 years of related maintenance or engineering experience, including 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.

• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building repair.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to prioritize competing tasks and stay calm under pressure.

• Clear verbal and written communication in English.

• Comfortable using work order and maintenance management software.

Preferred

• Experience supervising engineering or facilities teams in a hotel or hospitality setting.

• Relevant trade licenses or certifications, such as EPA or boiler certification.

Physical

• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, and kneel for long periods and push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.

• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
