Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Also involves some job-related travel (less than 10% of time); exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Primarily day shift rotation during the hours of operation and may work 10hr shifts currently scheduled 8:00am – 6:30pm in a rotating 7on/7off schedule. Weekend rotation is part of the shift. Shift to be discussed during interview. Position is a fully benefited position to work 80 hours in a 2 week pay period. Schedule, location of shift subject to change based on needs of the service line. May include weekend and holiday rotations as per rotation.

Assist pharmacist(s) with M2B prescription processing and distribution to patients/families within Chandler or Good Samaritan hospital(s); collect prescription and patient information required to process prescriptions under the direction of a pharmacist; deliver medications to patients; and collect payments using a point of sale system. Use of multiple computer devices and programs for adequate documentation are required. Other duties may include assisting pharmacist(s) in obtaining prior to admission medication histories; assess patient risk factors for adherence to prescribed regimens; review/enter patient allergies and triage medication related problems identified via communication with pharmacists, other providers, or patients.

Hospital/retail pharmacy technician and/or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
