About the role

The Electrician is a highly skilled field role responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments. This position is designed for individuals with significant hands-on experience (8,000+ hours) who are capable of working independently, leading small crews, and supporting project execution, but who may not yet hold a Journeyman license.

Electricians at CS Erickson play a critical role in delivering high-quality work, supporting field leadership, and contributing to a safe, productive jobsite.

What you'll do

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and equipment connections
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to execute work accurately
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Lead and direct apprentices and less experienced electricians on job tasks
  • Ensure all work meets NEC code requirements and company quality standards
  • Assist Foremen and Project Leaders with layout, planning, and material needs
  • Identify and communicate jobsite issues, risks, or inefficiencies proactively
  • Support commissioning, startup, and testing of electrical systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with company safety policies
  • Accurately track time, materials, and job progress as required

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Minimum of 8,000 hours of electrical experience in commercial and/or industrial environments
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor apprentices in the field
  • Experience with electrical installation, service work, or both
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Journeyman Electrician license (or actively working toward it)
  • Experience in industrial environments or complex commercial projects
  • Exposure to controls, automation, or specialty systems
