What You’ll Do

As a Radiology Technologist, you will report to the Practice Manager. Operates basic x-ray equipment determining the quality and quantity of ionizing radiation to make quality radiographies. Administers medical x-rays on injured and/or sick patients, as directed by a physician, following accepted procedures and policies. Performs routine laboratory tests as ordered. Assumes reception desk responsibilities when the medical receptionist is unavailable

Radiology Technologist Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiologic procedures while ensuring radiation safety and quality control
  • Prepare and position patients, applying sterile and isolation techniques
  • Process and maintain imaging equipment, records, and x-ray files
  • Communicate imaging results with patients and providers
  • Maintain inventory and functionality of radiology and lab equipment

Patient Care Duties

  • Record medical histories and perform basic clinical assessments (vitals, urinalysis, injections, lab draws)
  • Assist with exams, minor procedures, and emergency care
  • Conduct routine lab tests and EKGs; administer medications as ordered
  • Educate patients and relay physician instructions
  • Schedule procedures and coordinate hospital orders

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Manage EMR documentation, patient data, and test results
  • Triage patient calls and prioritize care needs
  • Maintain exam room supplies, cleanliness, and sterilization
  • Perform drug and alcohol testing per certification guidelines

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Complete required training, certifications (BCLS/CPR), and health requirements
  • Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Participate in team meetings and support departmental operations
  • Maintain flexibility for overtime and schedule changes

What You Bring

As a Radiology Technologist,you will demonstrate proficiency in radiographic procedures with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality images and maintain detailed records, as well as competency in routine laboratory procedures with measurable, reliable results. Utilizes strong analytical skills to evaluate data and ensure quality standards are met. Communicates effectively to position patients comfortably and accurately while understanding and following medical and radiographic instructions. Exhibits professional interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, physicians, and staff, along with competency in administrative tasks such as typing, filing, and phone communication. Possesses the technical ability to perform venipuncture and the manual dexterity required to operate and adjust medical equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through successful completion of an approved school of radiology technology with subsequent registration and state licensure within six months of date of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of health care experience is required.
