Assistant Manager – Warehouse & Distribution Operations

Location: Hayward, CA (transitioning to Benicia, CA)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Compensation: $28.00 per hour

Position Overview

Troia Foods is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Assistant Manager to support daily operations at our Hayward facility, with a planned transition to our new Benicia location.

This role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, employee accountability, and high-quality service delivery. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Facility Manager to oversee warehouse operations, driver coordination, time and attendance, and overall team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Warehouse Support

Assist in managing daily warehouse operations including receiving, staging, loading, and order fulfillment
Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of all outbound deliveries
Support inventory organization and product handling standards

Driver & Route Coordination

Assist in coordinating delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely and efficient distribution
Monitor route execution and address issues in real time
Support communication between drivers, warehouse staff, and management

Employee Oversight & Accountability

Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and adherence to schedules
Support enforcement of company policies and workplace expectations
Assist with coaching employees on performance, productivity, and conduct

Administrative & HR Support

Support timekeeping and payroll accuracy (Paychex)
Assist with onboarding paperwork, employee documentation, and compliance processes
Maintain organized and accurate records

Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures
Support workplace safety initiatives and reporting requirements
Promote a culture of accountability and safe work practices

Leadership Support

Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Facility Manager
Help drive operational improvements and team efficiency
Support implementation of company policies and process improvements
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations
Prior experience in a lead, supervisor, or assistant manager role preferred
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and team leadership abilities
Experience with timekeeping systems (Paychex or similar) is a plus
Proficient in basic computer systems and administrative tasks
