Job Title: Maintenance Support / Grounds Technician
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Support / Grounds Technician is responsible for assisting in the upkeep and cleanliness of residential properties managed by the housing authority. This role supports maintenance operations by performing unit clean-outs, waste removal, and general labor tasks to ensure safe and habitable living conditions for residents.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform unit "trash-outs,” including removal of abandoned belongings and debris from vacated apartments
• Dispose of garbage and bulk waste in accordance with local regulations and housing authority policies
• Remove and transport furniture, appliances, and other large items (up to 50 pounds)
• Assist with general groundskeeping duties to maintain clean and orderly property conditions
• Support maintenance staff with basic labor tasks as needed
• Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and free of hazards
• Follow all safety procedures and proper lifting techniques

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
• Basic knowledge of safety practices and equipment use preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Working Conditions:

• Frequent physical activity including lifting, bending, and walking
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and potentially dusty or cluttered environments
