JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the care and support of the patient at their place of residence, utilizing technical nursing skills with minimum assistance. Makes daily home visits with personal vehicle within 50-mile radius of Stillwater.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Minimum age of 18 years.
-
Home Health Aide Certification.
-
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
-
Ability to function in stressful situations.
-
Employed by Stillwater Medical Center for a minimum of one year or one year of experience.
-
Successfully completes the written competency exam and the skills demonstration evaluation required by SMC Home Health.
-
Home telephone and dependable transportation required.
-
Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire.
-
Having and maintaining a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record is a condition of employment. Automobile liability insurance required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.
-
Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses, to read and write.
-
Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.
-
Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.
-
Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
-
Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: vital signs, feed patients, and handle instruments).
-
Able to work in a latex-burdened environment.
