Job Description
The Supervisor manages a range of administrative, supervisory, and field responsibilities, including coordinating roadway and infrastructure maintenance, supporting capital improvement projects, and guiding crews in daily repair and maintenance activities. This role is critical to maintaining town-managed roads, recreational paths, sidewalks, and rights-of-way, with a strong focus on protecting public safety, health, and overall community well-being.
Budgeted hiring wage range = $32.93 - $41.17
Full wage range* = Min: $32.93, Mid: 41.17, Max: 49.40
*wage offer based on specific job experience and education
Essential Functions:
- Plan, prioritize, assign, and supervise daily work activities for Streets Division staff to ensure timely, high-quality completion of maintenance, operations, and construction projects.
- Serve as a hands-on working supervisor by leading, training, mentoring, and evaluating staff; carry out personnel actions (hiring, discipline, performance evaluations) in coordination with department leadership.
- Oversee and actively participate in the maintenance, repair, and construction of town streets, sidewalks, pathways, drainage systems, signage, and rights-of-way, including snow removal operations.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, conducting safety meetings, overseeing traffic control, and ensuring safe work practices and equipment use.
- Inspect and assess infrastructure and assets to determine cost-effective maintenance, repair, or replacement strategies; implement programs such as pavement management, concrete repair, and drainage improvements.
- Coordinate and manage assigned capital and maintenance projects, including construction oversight, contractor coordination, and collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
- Operate and ensure staff proficiency in heavy and light equipment (e.g., loader, backhoe, motor grader), including equipment used in snow removal; perform and oversee routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Administer right-of-way and excavation permits as directed and ensure proper work zone traffic control for public and crew safety.
- Support budget development and administer assigned program approved expenses, including monitoring and tracking purchasing, inventory, and procurement activities.
- Review and approve timesheets; manage employee scheduling and time-off to maintain adequate operational coverage; maintain accurate records.
- Respond to public inquiries and customer service requests, providing timely resolution or appropriate follow-up.
- Participate in emergency response and serve in an on-call rotation for after-hours service needs.
- Assist with departmental planning, recordkeeping, and administrative support functions.
- Support development of bid documents and requests for proposals (RFPs), respond to contractor inquiries, and participate in contractor selection processes.
- Coordinate equipment sharing and resource support across Town divisions and departments.
- Assist with inventory tracking and supply management.
- Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, mission, vision, values, competencies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.
- Attends Town and departmental training and meetings as appropriate or assigned.
- Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
- Communicates with Town of Frisco employees, citizens, customers and vendors in a professional, courteous and timely manner both verbally and in writing.
- Performs other job duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.

| Equipment Used in Job: | Must be capable of operating a variety of equipment, hand & power tools normally found in Public Works operations. Standard office equipment, including computers and related software, multi-line telephones, and office machines such as copiers, printers, and scanners. |
