Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with hotel recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. This role supports all kitchen operations, including restaurants, room service, and banquet functions, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. The Line Cook works collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure timely and consistent food production that meets guest expectations.
What You'll Do
Prepare, cook, and plate food items according to standardized recipes and production guidelines
Set up and stock assigned station with necessary supplies and ingredients
Ensure proper portioning, cooking methods, and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including following sanitation and food safety standards (HACCP)
Assist with daily prep work, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Monitor food quality and report any inconsistencies to the Sous Chef or Chef
Support banquet and catering production as needed
Properly label, store, and rotate food products (FIFO)
Minimize waste and follow cost control procedures
Maintain equipment and report any maintenance issues

Strong culinary techniques (butchery, sauces, cooking methods, plating)
Leadership and team supervision in a high-volume kitchen
Ability to delegate, train, and coach staff effectively
Strong organization and time management
Menu execution and consistency across multiple events or outlets
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (HACCP, ServSafe)
Inventory management and cost control awareness
Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining quality
Strong communication skills with kitchen and front-of-house teams
Problem-solving and decision-making in real time
Experience & Qualifications
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Basic math and cash handling skills
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressures
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs (e.g., milk crates, supplies)
Repetitive hand and arm movements (grinding, pouring, steaming)
