About This Position
We are seeking a dependable and hard-working Vacuum Truck Helper to support our Vacuum Truck Operator during industrial cleaning operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is safety-focused, and is looking to build a long-term career within the industrial services field.
The Helper will assist with equipment setup, hose handling, job prep, debris removal, and general site support.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational SupportAssist the Vacuum Truck Operator with setup, operation, and breakdown of vacuum equipment, hoses, and attachments.
Handle hoses, tools, and nozzles during waste removal from tanks, pits, vessels, and other industrial structures.
Support safe and efficient removal of waste materials, liquids, sludge, and debris under operator supervision.
Help stage equipment, secure job sites, and ensure work areas remain organized and safe.
Assist with the proper handling and segregation of waste materials, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste, under guidance from the operator.
Help maintain accurate labeling and basic documentation as instructed.
Perform basic cleanup and rinsing of equipment, hoses, fittings, and tools after each job.
Assist with routine inspections such as checking hoses, fittings, and PPE for wear or damage.
Report equipment issues promptly to the Vacuum Truck Operator or supervisor.
Always follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and job-specific safety protocols.
Participate in safety meetings, tailgate talks, and training sessions.
Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, or near-misses to the supervisor.
Support confined space and lockout/tagout procedures as required (non-entry tasks unless trained).
Assist the lead operator with basic recording of job tasks and material quantities as directed.
Communicate clearly and professionally with operators, supervisors, and team members.
Help ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are accounted for before leaving job sites.
Work as part of a team to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
Assist with general labor tasks as needed to support the crew and maintain productivity.
CDL Required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Ability and willingness to perform physical labor, including lifting hoses, climbing, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow directions, maintain situational awareness, and prioritize safety at all times.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
Previous experience in industrial cleaning, construction, or similar work is helpful but not required.
