Registered Nurse Risk Manager - FT - 8:00AM-5:00PM - Broward & Miami Dade - Catholic Hospice at Catholic Health Services – Miami, Florida

Summary & ObjectiveThe Risk Manager is responsible for coordinating, directing and implementing the risk management programs at Catholic Hospice, Inc.(CHI).Identify and evaluate risks to reduce injuries to patients, staff, and visitors within an organization’s environment.Essential FunctionsCoordinates and implements the risk management programs in the assigned facility in conjunction with facility leadership.Coordinates programs for risk identification, risk analysis and risk control and/or risk reduction, including, but not limited to the following:a.Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with standards and effectiveness of policies.b.Investigation, analysis, documentation and timely reporting to the appropriate regulatory entities ofpotential and/or adverse incidents.c.Prepare reports and statistical data for hospice leadership on risk management issues and strategies.d.Collaborate with legal and insurance professionals on risk-related matters.e.Assures facility compliance with policies and procedures.Participates as a member of applicable entity committees and is designated resident/patient safety officer.Provides risk management training at orientation and annually; assists in the identification, planning, conduction, and scheduling of continuing entity risk management education programs.Always maintains the standards of confidentiality.Other DutiesWorks collaboratively with various departments to ensure the organization complies with rules, regulations, and standardsConduct training for staff on risk management issues and preventative measures.Maintain required certifications and mandatory skill updates.Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilityNo direct reportPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250+ pounds, walk, climb stairs or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.Knowledge &Experience RequirementsClear and Active Registered Nurse to practice in the state of Florida.2+ years of Risk Management experience required.Certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) required.Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and patient safety protocols.Knowledge of applicable OBRA, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities, OSHA, State and Federal regulations.Must have a valid Florida driver's license.Must have knowledge of computer office/clinical software.Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
