MINIMUM EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE
Required:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Currently licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State.
Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire.
Maintains up-to-date Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
EXPERIENCE.

Rehabilitation in adult population
The Speech Language Pathologist works in accordance with the practice act for New York State, which includes the evaluation and treatment or the prevention of disability, injury and disease in an acute care, medical center and also in varied outpatient settings. Responsible for planning, supervising, carrying out speech therapy treatment programs which may also include working with the medical imaging department to schedule and assist with modified barium swallows. Actively participates in and supports department quality assurance programs, education and customer service programs. Works as part of the health care team across department lines and performs other duties as assigned.
