Description:

High Side is looking to hire a Systems Engineering Lead. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful development and delivery of complex systems, requiring a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage the technical aspects of the program. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated leader capable of driving system engineering efforts to meet program objectives and deliver high-quality products to customers. The role involves both technical and managerial duties, ensuring the successful execution of program objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Systems Engineering Teams:

  • Manage and lead a medium to large team of Systems Engineers on programs related to threat warning systems.
  • Oversee all systems engineering content, ensuring the quality and completeness of work products.

Manage System Development:

  • Understand and implement the product development process, ensuring alignment with program goals.
  • Handle schedule and cost account responsibilities for the systems team, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.
  • Execute systems planning and requirements development, including the creation and review of system requirements for software, components, subsystems, and operational concepts.
  • Allocate requirements to relevant engineering disciplines and oversee the integration and verification of system designs.

Lead Technical Activities:

  • Create system test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring that systems are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Lead product design, development, integration, and verification efforts, ensuring that the final product meets all requirements and specifications.
  • Engage in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings to ensure alignment and address any technical challenges.

Customer and External Relations:

  • Maintain contact with customers, other contractors, and government officials, ensuring clear communication and alignment with program goals.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations both internally and to customers, effectively communicating program status and technical details.
  • Monitor and report on metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures (TPMs), ensuring that systems meet performance expectations.

Support Business Development:

  • Participate in proposal development activities, including writing proposal text, estimating costs and schedules, and preparing presentations to secure new business.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent experience.
