Join Our Team at University Urogynecology!

We are seeking a full-time Precertification Coordinator to support University Urogynecology, a fast-paced, high-volume specialty practice located within UT Medical Center.

Job Type: Full Time - Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

About the Role

As a Precertification Coordinator, you’ll play an essential part in ensuring patients receive timely, coordinated care. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for insurance verification, authorization processing, and procedure cost communication—always with a strong customer service focus.

What You’ll Do
  • Track upcoming surgeries and maintain an organized workflow of precertification statuses
  • Assist with surgical scheduling, including coordinating with providers and patients to ensure accurate and timely scheduling.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits by phone and online
  • Update insurance details in the NextGen system
  • Review insurance payment policies and obtain prior authorizations as needed
  • Confirm all required pre-authorization documentation is received before procedures
  • Communicate clearly with clinical and administrative staff
  • Assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the team
Requirements:
  • Professional coding certification or at least 2 years of experience in insurance verification (required)
  • Strong understanding of medical billing and managed care
  • Familiarity with various insurance plans
  • Excellent verbal communication and a polished, professional presence
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
