Job Description
The TMMC Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs a variety of clerical, administrative, and medical duties that support the daily operations of the clinic. As the first point of contact for team members, patients and visitors, the CMA is the positive and professional representation of the clinic. The CMA discreetly handles large amounts of sensitive and confidential information concerning team members' personal health issues. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- BLS
- Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA-Certified
Medical Assistant)
- American Medical Technologist (RMA-Registered
Medical Assistant)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally
Certified Medical Assistant)
- National Health career Association (CCMA-Certified
Clinical Medical Assistant)
- National Association for Health Professionals
(NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant)
Minimum experience required:
Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic setting.
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
