This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Business Analyst – Healthcare Interoperability in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of healthcare data, interoperability standards, and business intelligence, enabling seamless data exchange across complex payer, provider, and third-party ecosystems. You will translate business needs into precise technical and data requirements that support scalable, compliant integration solutions. Working remotely in a highly collaborative environment, you will engage with stakeholders across clinical, financial, and technical domains. The role involves deep analysis of large, multi-source healthcare datasets to uncover insights, ensure data integrity, and support decision-making. You will play a key part in shaping interoperability workflows aligned with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, CMS, and ONC. This is a high-impact position where analytical rigor directly supports better-connected healthcare systems and improved data-driven outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Analyze healthcare business and data needs related to interoperability workflows, ensuring accurate and efficient data exchange across systems and stakeholders.
  • Work with large and complex healthcare datasets (claims, member, provider, clinical, enrollment, financial) to assess structure, relationships, consistency, and quality.
  • Define, document, and validate functional and technical requirements for healthcare data interfaces using standards such as HL7, FHIR, X12, and C-CDA.
  • Lead discovery and integration workshops with payers, providers, and internal teams to define mappings, specifications, and system requirements.
  • Identify and resolve data integrity issues, including missing values, duplication, and inconsistent or “bad” data patterns.
  • Support ETL design, data transformation, and validation processes, ensuring outputs align with business rules and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and architecture teams to design and optimize interoperable data exchange solutions.
  • Perform SQL-based data profiling, validation, and root cause analysis to support system accuracy and performance improvements.
  • Support UAT planning and execution while mentoring junior analysts and contributing to documentation quality and peer reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and interoperability standards, including HIPAA, CMS, ONC, and related guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Public Health, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst in healthcare, with strong focus on interoperability, data integration, or healthcare data engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare data standards and formats, including HL7 v2, FHIR (R4), X12 EDI, NCPDP, C-CDA, JSON, XML, and flat files.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data domains such as claims, member, provider, enrollment, and clinical data.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation, profiling, and analysis of large-scale datasets.
  • Experience working with ETL pipelines and healthcare integration tools (e.g., Mirth Connect, InterSystems, Talend, AWS Glue) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with API-based integrations and FHIR RESTful APIs, including SMART on FHIR concepts.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and statistical reasoning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear business insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in distributed teams.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from $95,000 to $135,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Paid time off ranging from 17 to 27 days, depending on level and tenure
  • 9 paid holidays per year
