SUMMARY
The Private Banker is responsible for the delivery of an exceptional customer experience that provides personalized financial guidance to a diversified client portfolio, including high-net-worth clients, executives, business owners, and centers of influence. The Private Banker manages an existing portfolio of personal and business deposit, wealth management and loan relationships for Private Banking clients. The Private Banker is a key connector to internal business partners that provide clients with access to specialized financial needs (Wealth/Mortgage/Commercial), and a demonstrated industry expert that can build and retain a relationship portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Support the Bank’s strong Private Banking culture through on-going client contact, providing extraordinary service and superior product knowledge
- Serve as a primary relationship manager for assigned clients and provides a high level of ongoing personalized, convenient, confidential customer service; coordinate account openings, loan documentation processing and ongoing account transactions to ensure quality service and to minimize any work for customers
- Take customer service calls personally from clients; research problems and resolve issues, such as ordering checks, processing wire transfers and assists with electronic banking and debit card inquires; make policy exceptions within authorized authority or with management or other approval as necessary
- Maintain up-to-date advanced knowledge of Private Banking product offerings and processes, technology, and current industry trends and practices and utilize those as a part of the relationship management process
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews to assess current and future financial objectives, monitor renewals and maturities, and recommend appropriate products and services
- Actively identify and connect business opportunities to internal business units where appropriate including Wealth, Community, Mortgage, Treasury Management and Commercial Banking. Strong working knowledge of these lines of business is required in order to provide confident responses & direction to customers
- Develop, expand, and retain deposit, lending, and investment relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth and client retention within Sauk Valley Bank’s Private Banking division
- Ensure all loans adhere to the credit/financial requirements for quality and compliance as determined by the Bank’s Loan Policy
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through a consistent relationship management approach, including effective onboarding, scheduled outreach, periodic communications, and proactive engagement tied to key client lifecycle events
- Represent private banking at company functions, business groups and civic organizations to maintain wide referral network and enhance sales performance; Join and participate in outside associations and organizations likely to generate prospect leads
The position of Private Banking Associate is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 1 year related work experience or 3-5 years of experience with a financial institution focusing on client service and sales, preferably in private banking, wealth management, or relationship management
- Knowledge of investment products, credit structuring, and financial planning strategies
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and financial/banking industry knowledge, superior client service, and the ability to interact with clients and associates at all levels.
- Credit and financial analysis skills
- Organized self-starter with ability to work independently with little direct guidance
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation; ability to present to large, sophisticated audiences
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Sauk Valley Bank offers medical, short term disability, long term disability, life, vision, dental and 401K benefits to all full time positions. PTO will vary depending on the level of the position. This position is not eligible for incentive.
Salary Range: $24.00 - $30.00 an hour depending on experience
