Imaging Aide, Full Time, Benefited, Evening w/ Diff pay, 8hours, 1.0fte in Oakland, California at Alameda Health System

Role Overview: Provides general assistance and support to the technologists and health care team within Radiology/Imaging Services; will assist and gain exposure to all aspects of the department in anticipation of career advancement into the Technologist field, including patient care and interaction, general support services and introduction/observation of methods/procedures etc.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

• Acts as chaperone/guide to the patient within the department including but not limited to, answering basic questions (time involved etc.), engaging or assisting in transport within and outside the department, assisting patient in dressing/undressing for procedure, assisting Technologist with guiding patient on/off table and placing patient when necessary and providing assistance to patient in completion of forms/related paperwork etc.
• Observes screening processes/ procedures and assists with guidance from the Technologist, including providing instruments/supplies, placing non-invasive monitors etc.
• Performs miscellaneous housekeeping/administrative tasks, including ordering/stocking supplies, requesting housekeeping personnel, following up with pending laboratory items, answering phones, relaying messages etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Prepares scan room for patient exams including but not limited to, placing linens and miscellaneous supplies for procedure; at conclusion, sanitize area, including replacing lines, wiping down apparatus/contact areas etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Preferred Experience: Experience in a hospital or other health care environment and/or customer interaction experience.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

PAY RANGE: $24.94 - $27.56/hr

The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licenses and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
