Data & Reporting Analyst I in Reston, Virginia at John Marshall Bank

The Data & Reporting Analyst I supports the organization’s reporting and data needs by developing, maintaining, and validating reports across multiple systems. This role focuses on producing accurate, timely reporting and assisting with data analysis, while working under the guidance of the Data Management Analyst lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reports using tools such as Cognos, Excel, and other data/reporting platforms
• Execute recurring and ad hoc reporting requests across departments
• Validate report accuracy and reconcile data between systems
• Document report logic, data sources, and definitions
• Assist in identifying and resolving data discrepancies
• Perform data analysis to support business and operational needs
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting outputs
• Work with data sourced from FIS Horizon and other systems for reporting purposes
• Understand core system functions and data structures and how they relate to reporting outputs
• Escalate complex system or data issues to senior resources and vendors as needed
• Assist in improving reporting processes and workflows
• Support basic automation and standardization efforts

Required

• 2 to 4 years of experience with core banking systems
• Bachelors/Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
• Basic understanding of banking operations and data concepts
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Preferred

• Experience with FIS Horizon
• Experience reconciling data across multiple systems
• Experience in reporting or data analysis, including experience with Cognos or similar reporting tools
