NCA is a Christian School serving grades Jr.K-12. All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: "New Covenant Academy is a Christian School committed to Academic Excellence, Biblical Truth, and Christ-like character."

New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Jr.High Bible Teacher (employment agreement renewable annually, pending board approval) beginning in August 2026 to May 2027. An additional stipend for coordinating weekly Chapel may also be considered for the right individual. The Bible Teacher will work at the Liberty Campus Middle School location at 3581 Kansas Ave., Springfield, MO.

JOB SUMMARY

The role of the teacher is to engage and inspire students to learn the subject matter and impart skills and attitudes that will positively contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women. The teacher will integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum, plan and implement a course of study to meet the individual needs of students, prepare and submit lesson plans, and assess student progress while demonstrating their own mastery of the subject matter taught. The teacher must also communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, students, administration, and faculty for the success of each student.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will have a valid Missouri (or from another state within the U.S.) teaching certificate with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree, which includes coursework in Biblical Studies, and experience working with youth. Additionally, candidates with a degree in youth ministry, or religious studies/education with at least 4 years of experience in youth work may also be considered.

Candidates must have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that exemplifies the Christian faith must demonstrate evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ, and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian school. The candidate must lead a lifestyle compatible with NCA standards and policies and have a call to teach in a Christian school and at NCA in particular. NCA holds all personnel to a standard of excellence. In keeping with its bylaws and its ministry-based mission to incorporate a Christian worldview into all coursework, candidates must be role models to their students, have a personal relationship with Christ, and regularly attend a church in alignment with the mission and policy.

  • Demonstrate evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ, and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian School.
  • Have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that allows being a true example to all students.
  • Implement their jobs “as unto the Lord”: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not men.”
  • Be active in a local body of believers and should be faithful in reading God's Word and daily prayer.
  • Agree fully and without reservation with the school's Statement of Faith.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

The salary is based on training and experience. Fringe benefits for the full-time teacher include medical insurance for the employee, with NCA paying for a majority of the premium. The employee may pay for an additional cafeteria plan for themselves and their family. 50% discount in tuition remission for your own qualified student to attend New Covenant Academy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, possibly run, stretch, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must have the ability to demonstrate the proper techniques and skills needed for athletic participation. Other physical activities may be required related to the physical ability to perform emergency procedures, evacuating students out of the classroom (possibly through a window) or following other emergency protocols. This position may require occasional lifting or transport of objects (25-30 lbs). Rarely, it may be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.
