Family Advocate at Recovery Solutions of South Carolina, LLC – COLUMBIA, South Carolina

Position Description:

Do you believe families are essential partners in healing and recovery?

We’re seeking a Family Advocate who will serve as a trusted liaison between youth and adolescent patients, their families, and the treatment team. In this role, you’ll provide education, guidance, and support—helping families navigate the mental health system and prepare for successful transitions across levels of care.

What You’ll Do

Engage with families before, during, and after admission to provide guidance, education, and support.

Participate in initial interviews with new admissions and their families or guardians.

Serve as a liaison between families and the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure clear, compassionate communication.

Offer parental support and psychoeducational sessions to strengthen understanding and engagement in the treatment process.

Collaborate with parents and guardians to identify and address barriers to successful reintegration into the home environment.

Provide input to treatment plans regarding family-focused interventions that support therapeutic goals.

Participate in community meetings, treatment team meetings, therapeutic sessions, and psychoeducational groups as appropriate.

Support aftercare planning and continuity of care when indicated.

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with families and patients at all times.

Document all family and patient interactions accurately and in accordance with facility standards.

What We’re Looking For

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience

Personal or professional experience working within the mental health system (preferred)
