About the Role

We are seeking candidate(s) to join our optical CNC machining/fabrication team. Under general supervision, you will operate and maintain the machines, perform part inspections, and ensure compliance with strict optical and mechanical specifications.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Operate CNC machines and perform routine cleaning and minor maintenanceSet up and adjust machines to meet part specificationsRead blueprints and work instructions to determine part’s requirementsClean parts using acetone and other approved chemicalsInspect optical surfaces for quality and CMM measurement and other requirementsPerform accurate data entry in computer systemsLearn and support metrology processes

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GEDMinimum of 3-5 years of related experienceAbility to read and interpret technical instructions and drawingsBasic understanding of CNC machinery and manufacturing processesStrong attention to detail and manual dexterityWillingness to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing settingFamiliarity with optical manufacturingBasic knowledge of CNC programmingStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Working Conditions

Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and handle delicate parts with careFrequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust be able to lift up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally (with or without assistance)Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to inspect parts using precision toolsMust be able to wear safety gear for extended periods

For California, the hourly pay range for this role is $XX.XX - $XX.XX

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training and work instructions are provided, required PPE is available, and compliance is monitored.

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
