The Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence (IEE) and Small Business Development Center are seeking a qualified Financial Management Consultant. The Financial Management Consultant will provide consulting assistance to businesses in Western Pennsylvania.

The award-winning Pitt SBDC provides expert advice through workshops and no-cost consulting services in several areas, including business plans, financial projections, market research, marketing, growth strategies, environmental, and international trade support. The desired SBDC Financial Management consultant will provide business consulting assistance to new and existing businesses in Western Pennsylvania. Additionally, the consultant will work closely with clients and staff, develop effective relationships with local economic development agencies, and support the creation of educational programming for the center.
The job duties include:
• Provides expert consulting to new and existing businesses on financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and projections, with an emphasis on complex transactions and growth strategies.
• Designs and delivers financial training programs, tools, and resources for clients and staff.
• Supports the creation of educational programs in collaboration with resource partners to strengthen the financial literacy of the businesses the center serves.
• Develops and maintains relationships with local economic development agencies to heighten the profile of a center/institute and the University of Pittsburgh.
• Conducts market research on existing and emerging markets to inform advising strategies and identify new opportunities for client growth.
Essential Functions
• Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and developing financial projections to support small business growth and decision-making.
• Proactive and highly organized consultant who anticipates client needs, problem-solves, manages multiple priorities, and delivers exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of excellent customer service.
• Effective communication, both orally and in writing, while handling interactions with professionalism and tact.
• Collaborates with the team to foster a positive, productive, and supportive environment that empowers everyone to excel.
• Conducts research and identifies relevant and up-to-date resources that support small businesses in Southwestern PA.
• Resourceful, adaptable, and excellent problem-solver.
• Familiarity with economic development organizations, funding for small businesses, and SBA/SBDC/ compliance (preferred but not required).
