Sr. Manager, Non-Trad Business Development at Qdoba Restaurants – San Diego, California
About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing business relationships with existing Non-Trad Partners to maintain and grow market share by unit count in non-traditional venues (such as airports, campuses, hospitals, military bases, travel plazas). Develop and implement tactics to source new Non-Trad Operators and non-traditional site opportunities according to regional growth plans for Qdoba. Partner with Real Estate, Design and Construction, and Real Estate Analysis to qualify site opportunities for RESC submission.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with the Director of Non Traditional Development to manage business relationships with existing Non-Trad partners.
- Stays current with industry trends as it relates to brand positioning and franchising for all non-traditional restaurant portfolios.
- Manages comprehensive Non-Trad recruitment planning. Creates supporting tactics to meet Non-Trad’ expansion and growth objectives. Manages the non-Trad development pipeline. Works closely with Non-Trad partners to determine growth plans within each Business segment.
- Develops, delivers and manages sales presentations to Non-Trad candidates. Manages the qualifying process, including screening applications. Conducts preliminary interviews. Tracks and advises candidates through approval process, and follows through to ensure all approved non-trad candidates meet standards.
- Participates in industry groups and conferences, business organizations, trade shows, and other sales events regionally/nationally to convey the brands’Non-Trad opportunities.
- Manages vetting new Non-Trad operators.
- Prepares approval package for proposed new sites.
- Manages conducting site visits of potential locations to determine Brand fit and operational ease. Works with Design department to create preliminary site plan.
- Create, manage, and submit RFPs for non-trad site opportunities (airports, campus, other)
- Ensuring Non-Trad Agreements are thoroughly reviewed so as to comply with all legal regulations, as well as with internal Qdoba policies and procedures.
- Communicates and interacts with potential non-trad partners in a manner which conveys detailed understanding of restaurant operations and profitability, demonstrates a strong business acumen.
- Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. preferred.
Experience - 6-7 years related business management experience, preferably in a licensed or franchise development environment for Quick Service or Quick Casual concept restaurants, Operations experience and understanding preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities- Requires excellent oral and written English communication skills. Must possess strong leadership, negotiation, persuasion, organization, and presentation skills. Strong financial acumen required - ability to analyze key business measures. Working knowledge of personal computers and related Microsoft Office applications (i.e.
Excel, Word, etc.). Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to travel as business needs require. Ability to operate a computer, i.e., desktop, laptop, tablet, etc.
